      I bought a house with two Monte Carlo fans not flush mounted. I wanted to flush mount them so I took one down, wrote down the model numbers, and called Monte Carlo. They said that the fans I had were a "Lowes exclusive" and that they could NOT be flush mounted. Given my previous experience with fans, I didn't believe them, and I ordered two of these parts, and...they worked! My fans are now flush mounted and my hands won't be chopped off when I stretch my arms :)

      We bought this fan to replace a smaller on that didn't produce enough air. This fan does a much better job of air distribution. It fits well with our traditional decore. We selected the brown & the description said it comes with a rose tone light shade. I really didn't want that color and was pleased to see a white shade in the box. The one negative is the fan isn't as stable as I'd like and it moves when you pull the string.

      I had a fan that I took out of my primary home and put into my rental home, but the ceiling is lower in the rental home, so I wanted to have it flush mount to the ceiling. The fan has no brand identifying marks except a label with "E81964 Model 513S-G" on it, which appears to be a generic model number used by several brands. I tried a kit at a big box store, but it didn't work (screws didn't align), so I looked on Amazon and found this kit. It appeared a few people had success with this, and fortunately so did I. Easy to put up, and not only does the flush mount give a little more room, it eliminates any balancing problems, since the fan is basically braced by the ceiling. Only issue I had was that I also had a medallion to disguise the bigger than necessary hole for the ceiling box, and it was hard to get to the screws at the top of the canopy with the size medallion I chose (10") so if you need a medallion, you may want to go with one of the bigger ones. Definitely will look to this again if I encounter another fan I need to flush mount and I don't have the original flush mount available.

      Extremely easy to install. I had to convert my fan to a low profile fan. I have never installed a fan before. I was able to install the kit and fan within 10 minutes. The plate has a hook that you temporarily hang the fan when you hook up the electrical wires.
