We had this same ice maker at our previous residence and it worked well for the most part.

This unit has been very loud and though it makes ice well the refrigeration freezer was not working well. This caused the ice to melt then freeze making the ice unusable.

The refrigeration has stopped working altogether.

The company and Amazon do not offer a contact number. Only an electronic message to the mfg. This is the same on their website.

It has been more than a week since I have tried to contact them numerous times

Really Impressed with this ice maker for multiple reasons. First, it is installed in our garage - in Florida. Air temps reach 90 F in the garage. Our supply line water temp is in the mid-80s F. I was concerned that the air/water temps may too high for ice production. No worries - the EdgeStar IB250SSOD produced plenty of ice. Next, it is a quality machine. Edges, seams, and fit are all smooth, straight, and clean. And it is a quiet unit. It came double-boxed, and the stainless steel was clean and flawless. Instructions and on-line documentation are also excellent. I had no trouble reversing the door. I noticed that the back of the unit felt warm/hot near the compressor area. So I attached an external muffin fan to the back of the chassis to suck air through the unit - just as a precaution. Perhaps the fan will extend the life of the unit for me.

It has been a flawless machine and looks as good as the day I opened the box.
It had a minor issue of dripping water from the ice maker, but leveling the unit and adding a
little Plumber's Putter around the fill tube resolved the dripping - not a big deal.
Yes, it does frost up, but easy enough to defrost in a couple of hours.
No compaints here, and high marks on this well built machine.

This unit is complete junk--don't buy it I bought one and it quit making ice. It is way too noisy to be indoors. When it did work, the ice turned into a massive block of ice cubes stuck together. I'm mad I got ripped off buying this. It lasted less than 2 years before it died. It has been nothing but a major disappointment and shouldn't be allowed to be sold on Amazon because it is a complete rip off piece of junk that is only manufactured to be landfill ready and steal your money. Complete fraud.

When we first purchased, there was a horrible plastic smell coming from the ice maker (as well as taste when we tried the ice). Contacted seller and they told me to air out/clean/retry to make ice. I did several times and over the course of the year. I purchased 2 years ago and we have continuously tried to clean/remake ice/ventilate ice maker with no luck. While it is a wonderful looking machine and does make great ice, ours has been completely useless since the day we bought it with no help from the sellers.

Works well, louder than I hoped. Made the first load of ice in about 50min. Then another load about every 20 min. after that. Filled the bin in about 24 hrs.
The ice does freeze together in the bin if you leave it for a while but it does that in the very expensive subzero fridge this unit supplements.

I would not advise buying this ice maker. Unfortunately the ice maker gradually stopped cooling after less than a year. It’s under cover, out of the elements, and not exposed to extreme temperatures. The unit had a freon leak which should absolutely not happen with a gently used ice maker that’s a year old. Especially for the money that the unit cost. Edgestar phone support was very poor. The call drops each time after 20 minutes on hold. The warranty request online was supposed to reach out to me after 48 hrs. After a week and no responses I had to repair the unit myself. After 10 days they eventually responded via email and told me it was their policy not to provide service to my unit. I even offered to pay for the labor and they would cover parts and they refused to take responsibility for a defect. VERY DISAPPOINTING.

I bought this ice maker on 9/13/2019. It was pretty good for a year. Note that it doesn't have a drain line so the ice at the bottom of the unit will form into a giant block every now and then that you'll have to remove. After a year, it would stop working about every 2 months and I'd take it out to the backyard, defrost the unit and reinstall. Then it would work again for a month or two. Well, it officially died yesterday (4/16) after my last attempted defrost/reinstall. For $1150, I thought I'd get more than 2.5 years out of it. (and only 1 year was trouble-free). I'd look elsewhere.
