Customers say

Customers find the kegerator to be a good quality product that keeps beer at 34 degrees Fahrenheit and is easy to assemble. The functionality receives positive feedback, with one customer noting it works just like bar taps, and customers consider it great value for money, particularly for saving on beer costs. The size and fit receive mixed reviews - while it can hold two 1/6th kegs and fit well in bar/dining room areas, some customers report it's too small and doesn't accommodate 1/2 kegs like Coors. Additionally, several customers report leakage issues with the CO2 tank.

This thing gets COLD! 🍺🍺🍺
This is my 3rd kegerator in about 20 years and it is by far the best I’ve ever owned. $429 shipped to my door and no tax!! My previous two were made by Danby and they really never got cold enough (below 40) on their own without adding a tower fan and relocating the thermostat to the top of the interior. I usually keep lite Pilsner style beers on tap when I don’t have home brew or a keg from my local microbrewery. So the colder the better on cheap lite beer... I digress, NO PROBLEM with cooling on this one! I placed a glass of water with a meat thermometer inside the first night and discovered the next morning that it had half frozen with a reading of 30°F! The hardware that came with mine is ok. The faucet is average quality with a spring loaded return. The sankey coupler is good quality and the co2 regulator is probably a MicroMatic brand which is good. It’s useful to have another co2 cylinder as a spare too. Overall this is an excellent beginner setup. The first thing I did was toss the cheap plastic drip tray and replaced it with a nice looking stainless steel one I’ve had. I also swapped out the faucee with a heavy duty, high quality stainless steel one I bought years ago from MicroMatic. This was important to me since I like the higher quality feel and all stainless steel construction. The only other thing I upgraded us my dual gauge co2 regulator from MicroMatic I used on my previous setup. I plan on keeping the regulator that came as a spare. Overall I can’t believe how cold this thing gets and it surprised me at how much smaller it appears compared to my older kegerator. It is about 1” more narrow than my old one. I think maybe this is by design since the interior has less cubic inches which means less dead space for the compressor to cool. Also the cooling plate is way bigger than my previous kegerator. This is a great value and I would buy it again and recommend to all my friends.

I was a little hesitant to purchase, since I seen quite a few reviews that talked about a multitude of problems but so far, so great. I absolutely love this thing. Doesn't take up much space, runs quietly, keeps beer ice cold(not even on highest setting), insulted tower to keep it cold all the way to the glass, holds a full size keg of Molson Canadian(my fave) and dispite what some monkeys said, was very easy to put together. The hardest part is getting the regulator just right for your brand of beer, but that's with any kegerator. Got the 5# co2 tank filled at my local home brew place for $13, tossed a keg in, hooked up the coupler, dialed in the psi best I knew how and started enjoying great draft beer. I have it pretty much at the perfect psi @9-10, every beer is different but for most American lagers, that seems to be ok (elevation not accounted for). besides what comes with it, you might want to buy a cleaning kit and some faucet plugs, maybe a dual gage regulator. Other than that, comes With everything you need minus the gas and beer. But if you're looking for a decent quality single tap that won't break the bank, this one is right for you.
Side note: don't forget the plastic washer attached to the co2 tank that goes on the line running from the tank to the coupler. I thought I lost it or I didn't get a 2nd washer so I went to home depot to buy one only to find the one on the tank while messing with the regulator.

Love my kegerator this thing works good and keeps beer cold

Delivery was prompt - 2days. Unit is double boxed - no damage. When unit is plugged in it comes up to temperature quickly - less than 2 hours. Directions are excellent and complete assembly was 30 minutes. Faucet and keg coupler are not the highest quality and the keg coupler turned out to be a problem. The unit comes with a one dial regulator - a dual dial is preferred and essential.

This is not my first kegerator. My first was a fridge conversion, which I had in my garage. Unfortunately the high summer temperature in Tucson, AZ (over 100* daily) caused the fridge to work itself to almost death so I needed to get the kegerator into the house - the fridge is going to Goodwill. The fridge conversion was upgraded with a SS CO2 tank, Perlick faucet ,dual dial regulator, Micro Matic keg coupler, all of which I used in place of the new stuff. Because I didn't want to clean my Micro Matic keg coupler ( the fridge temp was approaching 60* degrees and I didn't want the torpedo keg to spoil after only 5 glasses of beer had been poured) so I didn't fool around and used the new coupler. The beer would not pour because their coupler would not completely lock into the keg so I cleaned the Micro Matic and replace their provided coupler - should have done that in the first place.

With the fridge conversion, I had the CO2 tank in the fridge with no problems. Not a good idea with this unit. The CO2 tank fit easily with the torpedo keg but the pressure gauge registered near the red (indicating refill). The cold compresses the gas and gives false readings - I thought the unit wouldn't pour because the tank needed to be refilled until I weight it and found I had 2lbs gas left. The problem was the coupler but I installed the CO2 tank outside the Edgestar.

Invest in a dual dial regulator.

Temperature is the most important element with your kegerator. Invest in a thermometer such as the Walmart AcuRite wireless digital, which provides the exact inside temperature and allows you to dial in your Edgestar.

Tip: How did I know there was gas left in my tank? When the tank was filled I weighed it and wrote the weight on the tank. The empty tank weight is stamped on the tank - TW (Tare Weight). Mines 8.5lb. The tank weighed 10.5lb so even though the gauge indicated refill I knew I had 2lb of gas left. When the tank warmed up the gauge showed gas in the tank.

So far I'm happy with the purchase of the Edgestar Kc2000 and recommend it.

I recieved this in a box that appeared to have no damage. Upon opening found that one side of it was dented and the drip tray was not in the box, also the duckbill was defective. Amazon customer service gave me a fair refund for the damage to the kegerator and told me to call the company regarding the missing tray and defective duckbill and even proveded the phone number. Talked to the company representative who told me there was nothing they could do as I accepted the package and thus they had no responsibility to prove the missing and defective parts!!! Good on Amazon and bad on Edgestar!!!
