We have an old (1940’s) house with a drain at the bottom of the stairs leading into our basement, and a previous homeowner had clearly lost, misplaced, or discarded the original drain cover. This is a little bit bigger than the drain but it works. As cast iron it is heavy, and while it doesn’t fit perfectly, it doesn’t move, and it’s better than all of the plastic solutions most big box hardware stores sell.
