    The resin base on both lamps is complete garbage! The molding of the plastic has uneven lines, a drip mark of some sort on one, a scratch on the other, and the painted brown surface is swirly and sloppy! The finials are also plastic and equally sloppy construction. Oddly the dark colored glass points on the shades do not illuminate when the lamps are turned on. They are also VERY bright and the bulbs are visible extending beyond the shades edge while seated on the sofa or arm chairs. Also noticed that the bulb housings are a bit crooked on both lamps. This creates an uneven illumination of the glass shades and makes them appear oddly lit. Disappointed in these lamps for the price primarily due to the shoddy workmanship on the bases and finials but they're too much trouble to return. From afar they look great so just like everything else these days I just won't look too closely at them!

      Quiozel lamps are sturdy and truly beautiful. We recently redecorated our bedroom with an art-deco look, and this lamp is perfect. Assembly, like with most all products these days, could be a little frustrating, but once I read, and re-read, and then re-read again what it was saying to do, it turned out perfectly. Yes, they are indeed spendy, but for the quality of the lamp, it's well worth it. The long triangles on the shade are very purple, but when lit, it is not very noticeable.

      This lamp is by far the best and most beautiful lam I've ever owned. The elegant metalwork, which hints at an industrial take on modernism, is sturdy and not to be trifled with. The housing for the bulbs is serious s and even the chains which turn to the bulbs on and off are no joke. The construction of the top-piece that holds on the shade its equally serious, but extremely well-designed to continue the flow of the lap, not depart from it. There is no question that the Tiffany glass lamp shade has all the hallmarks of something that is beautiful on-purpose and with a lot of work, but that it is work that brings pride to those who do it. We're slowly redoing things in a 1930s art deco still, and this lamp sufficiently calls upon those that it has become something of the central piece to drive a lot of general questions, now under its inspiration.

      I've had the lamp for several month and loved it. I share the comments regarding an utter lack of instructions and a very odd finial mount that required quite a bit of fiddling to finally sort it out. Fortunately, once done you never have to think about it again. Or do you...

      I came home tonight to find the lamp shade had fallen off the base plate that sits on the finial mount. The result is that the shade cannot be mounted to the lamp. Examination indicates the joint between the mounting plate and glass of the shade proper is really poorly done. The joint was spotty at best and finally it just let go on its own. The weight of the glass shade proved to much for the shoddy joint.

      Next up: Time to contact Quoizel and see if they will replace the shade under warranty. I will report back how that goes later!

      The lamp itself is beautiful and attractive. On appearance and quality, I would give it five stars. The one star downgrade comes because assembly was not easy and the lousy instructions (mostly a diagram) didn't help. Now how difficult can it be to stick a shade on top of a lamp? Easy, right? Well, no. There was no way to screw the finial onto the top without leaving an obvious gap of about one-eighth inch. I'm convinced that Quoizel failed to include a spacing washer of some type. I finally used a couple of my own washers to raise the shade enough so that the finial screwed down tightly. But, that was after about thirty minutes of messing about trying various configurations and cursing the lousy instructions!
